The LVNS Forest Project is advancing initiatives under the vision of “Realizing an autonomous social system between forests and people” The project brings together 14 corporate partners in Japan, three academic researchers, and ventures from countries including the Philippines and Malaysia to promote six development approaches related to forest development.

In March 2024, the project hosted the first “Forest Pitch”, creating collaboration opportunities between 11 ventures tackling forest-related challenges and the project’s corporate partners. The program included venture pitches and one-on-one discussions with partner companies.
As a result, two ventures were selected by partner companies, and each was awarded 500,000JPY in initial R&D funding to begin joint development projects.

The event received very positive feedback from participants, as it successfully generated new forest development project ideas through collaboration between partners and ventures based on the six development approaches.
Building on this success, the project hosted the second “Forest Pitch” in March 2025, creating further opportunities for collaboration and new project development.
The event featured pitches from 10 ventures and researchers, as well as individual discussion sessions with three partner companies, held online.
